What's the Story?

Justine and Daniel are your ordinary, chill, college couple trying to enjoy a party. For them, this means beer and intellectual discussions about Spongebob, sexuality, and furries. Things are going great for Justine and Daniel-- that is until Nose-Ring Nina, the girl notorious for only talking about her nose ring, shows up and prevents the couple from escaping her self-centered conversations. As the night goes on, we witness Justine and Daniel’s humanity, as well as their sanity, slowly degrade as they try to be polite to the socially oblivious girl. Blood, Chex-mix, tears, and frozen yogurt--The Girl With the Nose-Ring is a revolutionary short comedy that may end up changing your perception of life, love, and social norms… But probably not.

The Girl With the Nose Ring is a celebration and case study on all of the obnoxious, oblivious and socially awkward people you’ve ever encountered: The guy who has 20 tattoos and explains their origins to you even though you’ve just met him, the girl who shows you pictures of her Airdale Terrier even though you stopped caring after the 2nd shot, the person who sells you knives. These people are as inevitable as death and taxes. In our film, they take the form of Nina, or “Nose-Ring Nina” who loves her piercing more than anything and makes sure we never forget it. Jason Gong and his team of filmmakers are seeking to craft a quick-paced and witty comedy inspired by their favorite films, directors, and awkward situations.
