Is it normal for a new piercing to sink in slightly?

I got my nose pierced a few days ago & the stud has settled quite far into my nose, it's not sticking out like i thought it was supposed to? Is this okay? I'm not sure if the hole is too big for the stud & i'm scared it'll sink right through my nose & get stuck?

Answer:
It is common during the healing process and if your nose stud is small. To avoid this we usually recommend round rings or bigger studs for piercing. You can change it after your piercing is healed. As for now be patient and follow the cleaning and care instruction from you piercer.

I got my nose pierced 3 days ago. The first 2 days were good, no problems. But I woke up today and there was crust surrounding my nose piercing and it was sinking in. When I try to lift the stud there's blood and it seems like the original hole is expanding. I don't know what to do or if this is normal. Btw I got it pierced with a gun.

What to do if your nose piercing is siking in slightly NEW

This is usually caused by swelling as it heals. You should go back into the piercing place and get a temporary replacement with a longer post. Once the swelling goes down, you can go back to a shorter post. I did that and the swelling went down after about a week.

I am experiencing the same problem but I also have a swollen bump inside the nostril under the hood of the earring is that normal ?
