hi,
i want to pierce my nose i am basically a tamlian and we ve a custom of nose piercing in right side. what is the scientific reason behind that?please help me

Why not for men?

I am a 30 year old guy always have the craze of ornaments some thing happens to me when I see nose rings and anklets on the beautiful girls I too got the desire to wear them but this "paapi duniya" wont allow me to do so I tried anklets in a beach of Goa once and also I pierced my all three parts of my nose several times but never wore openly I think its time to change the things so come on guys!

Hai every body iam a tamil guy but iam very much impressed on mookuthies on looking on any ones face with nose studs it makesd me more enthusiastic mood so i use to pierce my nose one side or both during night i put studs i look at the mirror for 1 hour and i sleep with studs in my nose and in the morning i remove it and apply some talcum powdre on my piercing so it own be vissible in public iam doing this for more than 5 years i dont know why girls not liking nose studs now a days

Double side mookkuthies

Hi All.
Thanks for your comments. My mother in law who has one piercing was very happy to see me with two nose studs and her younger sister said that I look like Mahalakshmi. My husband said that I was very attractive. No doubt, I received more attention with two mookkuthies from others than with one, because it gives an elegant look. Some do like to wear two sides, but they are shy and think others may brand them as old fashioned. Educated girls think wearing mookkuthies does not suit to their jobs. While I was young, I have seen many grandmothers with two studs, but our mothers ignored them and how do we expect the younger generation to follow it when they see less ladies with mookkuthies.

During our trip to some of the temple cities in Tamil Nadu like Chidhambaram, Tanjore we saw few young pretty girls wearing two mookkuthies. Some of the girls in villages still follow our tradition.Even in Tirupathi I saw a bridegroom wearing two medium size mookkuthies.I hope more and more girls will start wearing mookkuthie.

We are living Sec-bad shortly as my husband's next project is in Chennai. I will mail again.

hey thanks a lot for sharing your story. But we all are appreciate you for keeping tradition of Double nose studs alive. I think u must be only one in u r city who is wearing mookhuti on both sides at this young age. Nowdays girls refuse to wear even single nose stud n here u r wearing it on both sides. what was comments from u r family, in-laws about u r second nose piercing????

Hi all,

Thanks for your interest and my story is this. From my high school days I was very much attracted towards mookkuthi and in the first year in my college, my mother took me the gold smith and had my right side pierced and i was wearing a small pure gold mookkuthi, and every one in my family said with mookkuthi I was looking very pretty. My father's younger sisters wear two mookkuthies and they looked beautiful in silk sarees at all our family functions. During my marriage, I changed to slightly bigger 4stone mookkuthi and once my husband said I was looking beautiful, This was the oppurtunity I was waiting for and I asked him can I wear on both side, He told me to wait for some time and later took to me the goldsmith in Secunderabad and got my left side pierced and a small mukkuthi in the shape of a leaf was inserted . I like my two mukkuthies very much and I my husband loves them more

Double side mookkuthies

Hi All.

Having read all your comments, I told my husband that I wanted to wear two mokkuthi, first he told me to wait for some time, later yesterday he took me to a goldsmith shop in secunderabad and had my second side pierced, My first mokkuthi was done during my college days. Now I feel very happy to wear two mokkuthies and I see my husband too likes them very much and told me to wear them regularly.

hai iasked my wife to pierce her nose both side she is ready and she feel shy for public opinion so one day i pierced my nose in front of her in bed room just for fun but it looks so nice for me even my wife said not to remove the stud now i felt uneasy in public after one week she also got her side done now she got two studs and i got one stud in our noses we enjoy it by sharing our studs she makes me to wear multi stone during night and a steel one in day time

My Double Nose Studs

I was wearing a medium size pure gold nose stud during my marriage. My husband liked it very much and after a year of our marriage, once he said to me that if I wear two nose studs, I will look more beautiful and asked me to pierce my left side and wear a three stone nose stud. I said wearing two nose stud is old fashioned and refused to pierce. He kept quiet and did not talk about this. Later my mother visited us the following month and I related to her about my husband wishes to see me with two mookkuthis and my refusal. She scolded me and said, your husband is not asking for dowry or something, he's only asking you to wear two mookkuthi, wearing two mookkuthis is not a big favour you are doing for your husband, as a wife it is your duty to fulfill your husband's wish. The same evening she told my husband to take me to the gold shop and I happily got my nose pierced in front of my Husband and now wearing two mookkuthis. Now I like them very much.

Its not an outdated fashion

wearing nose ornament on both nostril is not an outdated trend what many think. Even I have seen amny women wearing on both sides.So i had requested my wife to do that some month back. And to my utter surprise that she also loved the idea and got her both nostril pierced the next day. Now she has been wearing on both siode of her nose since last many months and yes she looks gorgious with all those glittering sparkles on nose.

My second nose piercing

I got my right side of the nose pierced when I was 18 and was wearing a single stone nose stud on the right side.
Later after marriage I moved to singapore due to my husband's job. Here during our visits to temple I saw few girls in churidars, jeans sporting small nose studs on both sides of their nostrils and they were looking very beautiful.
Once when we went to the restaurant, A girl at the at the counter was smiling at us, she was wearing skirt and pink colour shirt and had a single stone nose stud on one side and a golden stud with a stone hanging from it on the other side of her nose, She was very pretty and I told her you look very beautiful. She replied that all girls with mookkuthi will look beautiful and since I am wearing two mookkuthi, I may be looking prettier. Even if you pierce your left side, you too may look like me, no choice I had my left side pierced on the same day and six years since than I am wearing two nose studs and I feel that I should have done it much earlier.

Double Nose Studs

Even I was wearing a medium size multi stone nose stud on my right side for some time, Later I had pierced my left side and wearing a medium size golden nose stud. It all happened ten years ago and I dont feel like removing them. My husband too likes my twin nose studs very much. You can try, if it does not looks good, you can always remove it.

my mom insisted me to pierce my nose i said ok so we went to goldsmith i sat in front of him my mom went to buy a stud for me .I marked the spot to be pierced then he pierced my left side nose when my mom seen my nose pierced leftside she shouted the goldsmith i told my mom i only asked to pierce left she got angry because in my family all are pierced rightside so she asked to pierce my nose on rightside also i cant open my mouth after piercing he inserted the stud on right then i asked to remove the left one, my mom said not to remove then again she bought one more stud and it has been fitted in leftnose by looking in the mirror it looks very nice to my nose so i kept quite we returned home my dad came late night that day i showed my studs he shouted my mom (since i was 15) why u done bothside i said to my dad doesnt matter it look nice for me ,my dad its ok on u but i will make your mom to give company to u i went to my room and started laughing with pain the very next day myself my mom and dad went to the same goldsmith and my moms other side nose pierced so in my family we both are double studed .On third day i went to school with two studs my class teacher admires at my face and said double studs are very qute for me and she said not to remove at any cost i shaked my head ok due to her encouragement still iam wearing now nearly more than 8 years iam in south chennai

i got my nose pierced right side my bought me four studs when nose was empty without piercing he wants me to wear bothside i got one last week and i told him i will stick one stone on left side after knowing responce from others i will get the other side since iam in chennai even my elders are having oneside

mostly womens with double nose stud looks more matured and pleasent appearence while in sarees they no need any makeup always thier face will be bright ever and seems to be homely they sacrifice thier nose for allowing others to enjoy while seeing her to my knowing who all with nosestud they all are living a fullfill life by making themselves and others happy iam a double nose pierced guy just to know the pain of them still my holes remains for ten years with boom stick

Hi no reason for it most of the tamilians will go for both side nose stud only few years from they started wearing onside by few females actually double side is only correct way of wearing nose stud
