Oxidized nose ring

I bought a nose ring online. It was a store that specialized in piercings, so it's not a bad cheap nose ring. The only thing is, it's a "helix oxidized silver" nose ring. I got my nose pierced about 5-6 weeks ago, and I have changed it out just once recently. My piercing area has been in perfect shape, clean and not infected, and I hope to keep it that way. I read here about how if you wear a silver nose ring, it will oxidize and the area around the piercing will be permanently blackened. I definitely DO NOT want this to happen, but I was wondering that since the silver had already been oxidized, if it would be okay for me to wear it(I know, that might come off as a dumb question, but I honestly don't know lol)? I've heard(and read) that the actual nose piercing takes about 8months to completely heal. So should I wait 8months to wear the nose ring?? Thanks for the help in advance!
