So, I've had my nose pierced for almost a year. After I first got it, I had to take it out at school and then I wore a retainer. Once school was out, I wore a nose hoop. It healed fine. School started, and I started using plastic retainers that are a bit thicker at the bottom. I don't know if it's irritated or has an infection, but there's always dry skin coming off of it from inside the hole (I can see it on the nose hoop whenever I take it out) & it usually hurts to change out the jewelry. I keep it clean, too. So I'm just lost. Do you have any idea what could help it? Or what's causing it?

Many people enjoy the use of lavender essential oil as nose piercing care and insist that it reduces scar tissue. It will lubricate your piercing and prevent its tightening.
First you must dilute it by blending 10 drops of lavender oil with 15 ml grape seed or sweet almond oil. Apply a drop to the piercing using a cotton ball or swab, remove excess oil, and then move the jewelry back and forth in the piercing.
