Septum Piercing Panic

I have a question: I got my septum piercing about a week or two ago, and it's not really sore unless i smack it (obviously because it is a new piercing), but as i have been cleaning it i have noticed that there is always a ring of white around the piercing holes that doesnt come off. Is that just my skin?! it doesn't smell, or hurt randomly, nor does it really crust. I just need to know if it is normal because it is making me nervous. It definitely doesnt look healed- but it doesnt look like an infection either.

i would say that it was the skin on the nose trying to heal. just keep cleaning it and moving it around so your nose can get used to the septum piercing. your nose isnt used to having a hole in it and it probably wants to close. just let it heal and clean it. nuff said. good luck! :D
