Wearing nath is ok?

Hi, this is Nayna,25 years. I am a bit confused and then found this website to post my problem here. I am working in a Bank and recently my marriage is arranged. In my case, I pierced my nose while in college with my friends and since then wearing studs in the left nostril. Before my engagement I met my husband-to-be and we’ve been interacting for sometime and built a fair relationship. Now, during the recent engagement ceremony my in-laws presented some gifts, one of which is a dangling nath (nose ring) and told my mom that they’d like me to wear it after the marriage. Can I go in public wearing nose ring? Would my colleagues think I am backdated. Can you pls. advice. I am feeling shy and confused. Any working lady is there who wears nath in office.
